The DAX Index pulled back a bit this week as traders reflected on the latest European Central Bank (ECB) interest rate decision, new US tariffs, and the US earnings dump by companies like Tesla and Alphabet. This article looks at some of the top DAX stocks to watch next week, including big names like Deutsche Bank, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Linde, Siemens Healthineers, Adidas, and MTU Aero.

Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank shares have pulled back in the past few days, moving from the year-to-date high of €32.97 earlier this month to €29.97 today. This price action will be put to the test when it publishes its financial results.

Deutsche Bank’s earnings come at a time when most global banks are doing well. Just this week, companies like BNP Paribas and UniCredit reported strong numbers.

Last week, top US companies like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, and Bank of America released strong numbers, helped by their investment banking and trading operations.

The most recent numbers showed that its business continued doing well, with the closely-watched return on tangible equity (RoTE) rising to 12.7% from the previous 11.9%.

Its revenue jumped to €8.7 billion, while the assets under management jumped to €1.8 trillion. Analysts expect the company to have benefited from the ongoing M&A and Initial Public Offerings (IPO) activity.

Adidas

Adidas stock price jumped by over 35% from its lowest level this year, helped by the recently concluded World Cup tournament. Its stock has now pulled back from the year-to-date high of €188 to €176.50. In a recent statement, the company’s CFO said:

“The World Cup has been great and a huge success for Adidas. We connected with consumers around the world in a fun way, sold four times more jerseys than at the last World Cup and twice as many balls. In total, we expect event-related sales of around 1.5 billion euros.”

Adidas stock will be in the spotlight this week as the company publishes its financial results, which will provide more color on its business. Still, the challenge is whether the company will use its World Cup success to boost its sales in the long term.

Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and BMW

German automakers have come under pressure in the past few months as competition in the industry has jumped. Mercedes-Benz stock has dropped by over 28% from its highest level this year.

BMW has dropped by over 40% from its peak and is at its lowest level since 2020. Porsche has slipped by over 60% from its all-time high, while Volkswagen has slumped by over 70% from its peak.

These companies, which are the most shorted in Germany, are now facing increased competition from Chinese firms such as BYD and Xpeng. As a result, Volkswagen has announced plans for major layoffs and plant closures.

Traders will watch the upcoming earnings of companies like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and BMW.

More DAX Index companies like Linde, Siemens Healthineers, HeidelbergCement, and Linde will release their numbers. After that, top names like Bayer, Siemens Energy, Deutsche Post, and Rheinmetall will publish their numbers.
